The Canadian Efficiency Decoration was awarded for 20 years of meritorious service in a non-permanent active militia, RCAF Auxiliary and Reserve until 17 August 1942. It was for Commissioned officers (as of September 23, 1931) joining before September 1, 1939. A bar was awarded for 20 additional years of service. There have been approximately 3,700 issued. War service counted double for this medal. Half of the time spent in the ranks counted towards this medal. The medal shown was awarded during WWII. The initials in the center were those of the reigning monarch.
